    Microneedling Treatments

One care guide for both microneedling services. Follow the shared instructions and the treatment-specific guidance for the type of microneedling you received.

Before Your Appointment — Both Treatments

    • Arrive with the treatment area clean and follow any individualized preparation instructions provided by your practitioner.
    • Keep well hydrated before your appointment.
    • Tell your practitioner about any new irritation, breakout, wound, infection or change in your skin before treatment.

    RF Microneedling — Potenza Pre-Treatment

    • Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before treatment.
    • For 3 to 7 days before treatment, at the physician's discretion, avoid therapies that may cause redness or irritation, including retinols, products containing isotretinoin and exfoliating acid preparations.
    • Shave visible hair from the treatment area. Male beards should be shaved on the day of treatment.
    • Follow the same preparation procedure before each Potenza visit.

    After Treatment — Shared Care

    • Treat the skin gently. Do not scrub, exfoliate, rub, scratch or pick at the treated area.
    • Wash with warm water and a mild, gentle cleanser. Avoid washcloths or other materials that may irritate the skin.
    • Do not apply makeup for 24 hours. For RF Microneedling, mineral makeup may be used after redness has resolved.
    • Avoid high-intensity exercise, swimming or activities that cause sweating for at least 24 hours.
    • Keep the skin protected from ultraviolet exposure and use broad-spectrum UVA/UVB SPF 30 or higher when exposed.
    • Keep hydrated. If the skin feels tight or dry, use the soothing/moisturizing products recommended by your practitioner.

    Your Treatment

Your practitioner can mark the treatment you received.

    Clinical Microneedling

    • Expected recovery is approximately 1 to 4 days, depending on treatment intensity and your individual skin response.
    • Avoid direct sun exposure for 3 to 5 days. Sunblock is mandatory when outside and should be reapplied every 2 hours; physical sunblock is recommended.
    • Avoid waxing and laser treatments for 2 weeks.
    • Avoid facial treatments for 2 weeks.
    • Avoid exfoliating products, Vitamin C, Retin-A, astringents, acids and products containing alcohol or fragrance for 3 days unless your skin-care specialist instructs otherwise.
    • No makeup for 24 hours. Mineral makeup is recommended after that time.
    • Do not pick at the skin.

    RF Microneedling — Potenza

    • Mild swelling and redness may occur and typically resolve within 2 to 24 hours.
    • If redness persists, use a protected ice pack with a soft barrier, such as a face cloth, between the skin and the ice pack.
    • Wash your hands thoroughly before touching your face because micro-pathways remain open after treatment and bacteria can be introduced.
    • If the skin feels tight or dry, apply moisturizing cream frequently.
    • If you currently have skin breakouts, they may temporarily worsen due to inflammation or swelling.
    • Do not pick at treated tissue; doing so may contribute to hyper- or hypopigmentation.
    • For 24 hours, avoid high-intensity aerobic exercise and heat-raising activities such as saunas, hot tubs and steam showers.
    • Avoid alcohol after treatment if possible.

When to Contact The Skin Edit

    • RF Microneedling: Contact your practitioner if rash, itching, redness or other concerns persist for more than 24 hours.
    • Call the provider immediately if signs such as pain, heat, blisters or surrounding redness develop following treatment.

    Additional Instructions / Recommended Products
